Venulae

Venulae are specialized glands that appear on the fenroo's body. Venulae are unique to fenroo and are one of their most distinctive features. Visible appearances of the venulae system, or, affectionately nicknamed the "moulds" are located on a 'roos eyebrows, cheeks, elbows and heels.

Venulae are a highly integrated fungal system that has evolved alongside fenroo. The venulae's system is tightly intertwined with a fenroo's nervous system, travelling along the spinal cord. Whilst fenroo scientists haven't quite figured out how venulae became so integral to fenroo, they have unanimously concluded it plays a vital role in the reproductive cycle of fenroo.

They are an important part of fenroo culture and are used in various ways, from communication to art and decoration.

Venulae are generally saturated, with dull or light colours almost unheard of.

Venulae also extend into the nasal cavities of fenroo. It is speculated that these extensions help fenroo detect atmospheric changes, making them extremely adept at noticing meteorological changes such as rain approaching or storms. Due to Veld's extremely arid climate in modern times, this evolutionary trait makes sense for fenroo survival.

One popular theory is that Venulae was a water-borne fungus that enhanced fenroo's innate sense of smell to benefit both 'roos and its survival. It also explains the importance of water in fenroo reproductive cycle.
